Now that Travis Barker’s mixtape, Let The Drummer Get Wicked was finally released a couple of weeks back, the focus can now be shifted to his upcoming solo debut album, Give the Drummer Some. In anticipation to the big release, two tracks made their way to the internet, one being a collaboration between Lupe Fiasco and Pharrell on If You Want To while the other, Cool Head, links the Blink 182 drummer to G.O.O.D. Music protégé KiD CuDi.

The album, Give the Drummer Some, drops on March 15th.

Two weeks away from Lupe’s grand comeback on the scene with the release of his highly awaited third studio album, L.A.S.E.R.S, and he decided to drop a brand new track titled All Black Everything produced by The Buchanans to whomever was subscribed to his iTunes *Lasers* Pass. Lupe claimed that his new single, Words I Never Said, would be a controversial one and for lack of better words, the song is definitely right up the controversy alley. And to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’m pretty sure that Lupe wouldn’t either. He enlisted the help of Alex Da Kid on the production and Skylar Grey for the hook, Words I Never Said is just another reason to be hyped about Lupe’s forthcoming album Lasers still set to drop on March 8th.

“At one point it wasn’t about Lasers, it was about ‘yo, we want out,” says Lupe Fiasco about his long standoff with Atlantic Records.

Lupe had a completed project, and an eager fan base awaiting it, yet Atlantic Records did not want to release Lupe’s 3rd studio album, citing creative differences and corporate concerns.

In this interview we talk to Lupe about his feelings during the holdout, as well as how this ordeal has affected his relationship with the music found on the new LP and his enthusiasm to promote it.

Four years and two albums later, this tag-team proves to be successful combination once again as this is classic Lupe in the making.

So now that the whole Lupe Fiasco and Atlantic Records debacle has been settled and a real release date for Lasers has been set in stone (March 8th 2011), I guess that everyone involved in the project can start promoting it… so here’s the official lead single of it titled, The Show Must Go On produced by Kane Beatz, which samples Modest Mouse song Float On and the result is pretty dope!

Alright, so Chicago artists and natives, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Jennifer Hudson & producer extraordinaire, No I.D. all came together to create a song under the banner of the newest season of Gatorade marketing campaign known as REPLAY. Every time Mos Def sings on a chorus, I hate it upon first listen, and then love the song every time after that point. This one’s no exception, don’t judge it too quickly. But there is something a bit fishy I’d say. Lupe’s verse is kind of cheesy [never liked dude], Ye’s flow is super slowly paced [almost too talky], and Big Sean spits a great flow for his first couple bars and then it just becomes identical to Drake’s voice and flow. I think this is just the one of many sides that I’m not crazy about hearing from Kanye – the furthest thing possible from College Dropout. Nonetheless, it’s another free quality track from a bunch of amazing artists… Can’t complain!

13th Witness was enrolled by Lupe Fiasco to direct the visual adaptation for the lead single of his British accent alter ego Percival Fats band [Japanese Cartoon] debut free album/mixtape(?), In the Jaws of The Lords of Death. The video pits Lupe Percival Fats chasing a girl through the woods under the moonlight… pretty much keeping the vibe they had with their first video for the song they did for Twilight.
