SNL funny guy, Andy Samberg, is at it again with his comedy band, The Lonely Island. Granted this is a little bit less funny than the previous singles Jizz In My Pants & I’m On A Boat. This new single off their debut EP Incredibad still manage to hold it’s own with the help of Julian Casablancas.

I believe that this Conan apperance is Julian Casablancas first tv performance as a single act and … well, the whole performance together seems a bit unprepared as his Julian’s vocals doesn’t seems to reach out, being buried by all the other instruments, the piano sounds a bit shallow while the bass is barely audible. It does get better at some point, but it really only sounds like a weared out version of the otherwise very good 11th Dimension.
The performance is saved by his awkward stage movements (not really), what really make up for the performance is the fact that Phrazes For The Young is awesome, yes sir.

River of Brakelights is a new song off the solo effort of The Strokes frontman, Julian Casablancas. This being the second leak off his debut album, Phrazes For The Young, everything seems to point towards the direction of a heavily electronic influenced type of album … making the very unique voice of Julian sound rather renewed under this new synth element while staying in the comfort zone of a more experimental side that could definitely be of The Strokes.

So a trailer of Julian Casablancas debut album, Phrazes For The Young surfaced on the internet a little while ago showing us a little of what was in store and since last night we can taste a little bit more of the cake as BBC released the lead single of the album, 11th Dimension. The song really comes off as an experimental song that The Strokes would have attempted, or a song they would have done if they were to switch electric guitars for keyboards, but keeping the same amount of forward momentum that keeps us wanting more.

I always thought this Converse commercial was awesome, I’m pretty sure there was a shortened version out there, because I can’t recall watching the whole thing, which is the main reason why I got so excited when I finally stumbled across the video today, but then again it wouldn’t be the first time my mind play tricks on me.
