Florence Welch and her band, Florence + The Machine, was on my watchlist for awhile now and I was eargerly waiting for her show in Montreal and boy, was I not disappoint. I was expecting a good performance, but not only did she bring her amazing vocals that she is known for, but she also brought her unique british sense of humor, which was somewhat refreshing has she genuinely seemed to enjoy herself up there, on stage and with her band. It was like she didn’t lose the fun/joy of being on stage and seemed like it was her first time, which really adds to a show when you’re in the audience as you see an artist just having fun and not performing to perform if you know what I mean.
Arrived just in time for her performance, but totally missed the opening act, Hey Rosetta! Anyhow, Florence played for a good hour picking songs mostly off her debut album, but also granted us with a B-Side and a well-picked cover that was once the first thing that this side of the ocean heard of them (according to Florence).
Before arriving at the venue, I was expecting a slow kind of show, a more atmospheric type of show, somewhat maybe similar to the atmosphere that listening to the album gives, but to my surprise, the audience and I were welcomed by a more light-hearted, a more upbeat Florence, one of my favorite moment of the night was definitely when she asked us to do a little jumping during one of the song, and as Montreal always do, people in the crowd delivered the merchandise which made Florence really excited about the whole feat and how high people were jumping, even gave the remark that people were not fucking around. Another strong moment of the night were near the end of the night when she handed out flowers to the crowd and made them held up high during You’ve Got The Love which was very awesome to look at (pic at the top for reference).
On a final note, Florence + The Machine promised us that she was going to be back soon and while no date is yet to be confirmed, that date can’t get any sooner. So if you were not at Le Cabaret Juste Pour Rire on Sunday, be sure to secure tickets on her future date with Montreal because it is worth every penny.
hit the jump for anoter fuzzy picture and a song.

special thanks goes to Roxanne who took the few fuzzy shots during the night.
