Directed by Flying Lotus himself (who seems to be everywhere lately), comes the official video for Erykah Badu’s newest single, Gone Baby, Don’t Be Long from her latest offering, New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh which I would suggest everyone to go pick it up right now if you don’t have this record in your collection already.

Rick Raaaaaaawse the baaaaaaws is on the roll. Here’s another little leak from his upcoming album, Teflon Don, this time with the third part of his Maybach Music saga featuring T.I., who’s fresh out of prison, Jadakiss and the only and only Erykah Badu. The lineup might not be as impressive as the one that appeared on Maybach Music 2, but it still delivers, making me believe that Ross’ album might be pretty good as everything released so far as been spotless… an observation only reinforced with the release of Maybach Music 3.

Taking pages from the Matt & Kim playbook, Erykah Badu presents us her new video clip for Window Seat where she goes fully dressed to her birthday suit in matter of minutes, showing the assets she usually tries to cover up. Her upcoming album, New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) is dropping tomorrow in stores near you.
ps. DAT ASS
Symbolism:
The sister is shedding her superficial layers. Exposing herself to the world. Facilitating her own evolution. She is assassinated at the end only to raise again in her EVOLVED STATE.
“This is also a reference to the John F. Kennedy assassination.
Erykah falls at the same spot, where JFK was shot, except it’s on the sidewalk.
When the camera turns after she’s down, you can see the the “X’ on the street. That “X” markes where Kennedy was shot in the car.
Reference also goes for the title “Window Seat”, the video intro and the “Group think” speculations about the assassination.

Here’s the first version of Erykah Badu newest song, Jump In The Air (Stay There), I say first version, because there will be 9 more versions of the song coming out, but with a different featuring artists for each one. The first one features no one else than Lil Wayne. New Amerykah pt. 2: Return of the Ankh is due for March 30th.

Erykah Badu joined The Roots on Jimmy Fallon this past Friday to join The Legendary during their on-air tribute to the late Michael Jackson. While most of the treats happened between commercial breaks, Questlove was generous enough to pass along this cover of “I Wanna Be Where You Are” which they recorded live in the 30 Rock studio just before the taping began.
