I’ve been quite busy since the beginning of the week, so please excuse me for the lack of posts… I’ll try to rush through all the things I’ve missed as I did make a list of things to post as I was just to busy to do otherwise. First stop is the release of the official video of Daft Punk single, Derezzed, off the Tron Legacy soundtrack which came out a couple of days ago, a week before the movie.

Not only is this video the latest trailer of Walt Disney upcoming sequel of their sci-fi classic Tron, but it also serves as a videoclip for Daft Punk’s newest single, Derezzed, that will appear not only in the movie, Tron Legacy, but also on it’s soundtrack that was pushed back to a late November [22nd] window a little while ago… A little bit less than a month before the actual movie hitting the theaters [December 17th].

Phoenix is currently touring North America and something quite unexpected happened during the performance they offered New York at the Madison Square Garden yesterday… They actually brought Daft Punk on stage to help them close their set and even threw a little curveball to the mix as they mashed up their Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger song with Phoenix very own If I Ever Feel Better and as you can see and hear in the chaotic video, it’s as epic as you might have imagined; they also stayed on stage until the very end backing them up on 1901, last song of the night.
To be honest, I am lost for words after watching the two videos, this is just so epic! I mean this marks the return of Daft Punk on stage after being away from it for three years… I would have killed to be at that show yesterday, KILLED. On a sidenote, Phoenix will be in Montreal tonight with Tokyo Police Club & Wavves at le Cepsum, but Daft Punk will probably not be there =(

Remember how epic the music in the trailer of Inception was? Well Daft Punk are right on the money too with The Game Has Changed which is currently featured in one of the trailer of Disney upcoming Tron Legacy. The leak/release comes right as words about the delay of the release of the soundtrack were made official.
Please note, due to a recent system conflict, the Tron Legacy Soundtrack release date has been moved to December 7th.
And as much faith I want to have in the sequel of one of my favorite classic/nerd movie, if it does end up sucking, I know for a fact that Daft Punk can’t screw up on the score. If they do though, 2012, might be closer than we think after all.

Pharrell has always been an inspiration for many people like myself, musically and stylistically, but definitely not lyrically. It’s not the dude’s fault, he can sing like an angel, but saying “Touch it” over and over again, or saying you’re looking for some “hot and fun” drives me a little bonkers. But I can’t front: this track was produced by Daft Punk!
N.E.R.D. premiered the track last week on David Letterman, so it’s great to see the performance be followed up so quickly with a mastered version. The song isn’t going to be getting heavy rotation on my Itunes, but it’s definitely worth checking out to hear this new shit N.E.R.D. is on! Expect the new album, Nothing, to drop Nov. 2.

Well, the last track that was allegedly going to feature on the soundtrack of the sequel of Disney movie Tron ended up to be a fake, so I wouldn’t hold my breath too long thinking that this one might also officially be on the soundtrack. Being on the soundtrack or not, it doesn’t really matter since it really comes down to if it’s a good track or not… and yes it is a good track (no surprise there)

A new trailer for Tron Legacy, the sequel of Disney cult classic Tron, was shown at Comic-Con this week, and while the trailer didn’t do much for me, the prior announcement that Daft Punk would be doing thoe whole the score of the movie possibly secured my 5$ tickets for a future tuesday night date. And since today you can also check out the first sample of what’s to come with the leak theme song of the movie.
update: well apparently, this is not the official Daft Punk Tron theme song, but a remix of itdone by Cryda Luv, thanks to Ron Workman in the comments box for keeping us in the know.

The Presidential Inauguration is near and the duo of GOLD has released an awesome stop motion video featuring the remix of Daft Punks’ “Aerodynamic” by Adam Freeland.
