Following the buzz and momentum Cage gained by appearing on National television with KiD CuDi & St. Vincent on Jimmy Fallon, he went ahead and released the official video for his latest song Captain Bumout which was strangely labeled Katie’s Song on his latest album, Depart From Me. Not sure why he decided to change the name of it or anything, but I personally think that it’s definitely one of the easiest song for the common music listener to ease in to what Cage is all about.

Alright, I don’t post alot of tv shows performances, but seeing Cage and St. Vincent on stage with CuDi during his performance of Maniac, the last single of his forthcoming album, Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager, at the Jimmy Fallon Late Night is something that I find utterly cool. Not only because Maniac is one of my favorite song of the album, but Cage on national television? count me in anytime.
Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager will arrive in stores on November 9th.

Okay, so there is no word on the why, where and what of this song, but I have to say that this is the kind of unexpected collaboration I live for. I mean, CuDi and Shia Laboeuf’s favorite rapper on the same track? Never would have dreamt of that… No word on exactly where this will actually end up, but I’m fine with being on my iPod/iTunes rotation for now. On the side, CuDi’s sophomore album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager is set to be released on November 9th.

And offered here below is the official video for KiD CuDi’s lead single of his forthcoming sophomore album, Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager, directed by Jason Goldwatch and featuring not only Kanye West wearing a gold crown, but also Christopher Mintz-Plasse and CuDi channeling their best British rock stars impression; which is quite reminiscing of what we’ve seen Katy Perry’s husband, Russell Brand, doing lately in movies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall & Get Him To The Greek. Oh and there’s a little of Clark Duke in the video too.

So we’re already six months in 2009 and well into the seventh … here’s a little shortlist of what I thought best of what was released so far (in no particular order). I know Top 30 might seems like an odd number, but I just wrote down songs off the top of my head and it ended up around 28, so i added 2 more to reach 30. You might also notice that I play around with the release dates of the songs, some of them leaked in 2008 and are still on the list, because they were officially released in 2009 and so on … anyway, here it is in no particular order.

Thanks to iLLRoots for this another joint from Cage upcoming album Depart From Me. Not the biggest follower of Cage, but while you can tell he’s the one who did Agent Orange, you can also tell that something has change in the way he delivers.
ps. Still waiting for that video collab with Shia LeBoeuf
