The Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers, unveiled the video format of his newest single of his solo effort, Only The Young, which sadly does not feature Charlize Theron like his debut single, Crossfire… it is however grandiose. It’s like if Brandon Flowers collaborated with le Cirque du Soleil to do a show in Vegas. And well, if director Sophie Muller was aiming for that, I gotta say that she did a fine job doing so.

I had the chance to get my hands on an early copy of Brandon Flowers upcoming solo debut album, Flamingo and after listening it from beginning to end I have to say that it’s pretty much what I was expecting. While the record would definitely fit right at home next to your other The Killers albums as a toned down version of them at first sight, I think that Brandon takes a bit more liberty in it’s musical exploration by pushing it a little bit further on a couple of songs, mixing it up and fully embracing it’s 80s background and sometimes even country.

As a The Killers fan myself, I found the album decently good, some tracks better than the rest, yet nothing too far off the beaten path, but it works and that’s good enough.

Flamingo is set to drop on September 14th in North America.

For those who didn’t know, The Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers is releasing a solo album entitled Flamingo… the first single of it is Crossfire and an official video was just unleashed on the internet a week ago. Full of ninjas, fire, explosions and pick up trucks, the video has Brandon all tied up waiting to be rescued multiple times from an impending doom by Charlize Theron.

To be honest, I’m not really sure why Mr. Flowers here wanted to go solo apart from being able to have all the spotlight for himself as what I’ve heard of Flamingo is pretty much what you’d expect out of a The Killers album to begin with… but you know, if that’s his thing, that’s his thing right? Plus having Charlize Theron in a music video will always win me over… granted I am not that much hard to convince in the first place.
