The thing I love about this song is that it creates a connection between Gucci Mane La Flare and Dario Argento. Argento is a horror film pioneer, the main man behind the Italian subgenre of Giallo, one of his best films being Tenebre. Tenebre is scored by the amazing rock band and horror movie composers, Goblin. Goblin wrote a wonderful theme for Tenebre, which was sampled by Justice for “Phantom Pt. II”. “Phantom Pt. II” is the source of Gucci Mane’s “It’s Gucci Time” half-second sample looped throughout the entire song. What a fucked up, wonderful world.

After releasing the first song of his Jay-Z collaboration album last week, he offers us another track entitled Devil In A New Dress for the second installment of his own G.O.O.D. Fridays. The track was produced by Bink and no word was made on the placement of the song itself, but will probably end up on some mixtape or something… Friday is slowly becoming my favorite day of the week.

M: So you missed Arcade Fire concert at the Madison Square Garden a couple of weeks ago? Well the whole thing as been put up on Youtube for 24 hours for everyone to see, so don’t miss out on this, because it is as amazing as it sounds.

Oh and Tommy started the post, hence his name as the author, but he had to go to work, so I picked up the pieces and finished it.

I had the chance to get my hands on an early copy of Brandon Flowers upcoming solo debut album, Flamingo and after listening it from beginning to end I have to say that it’s pretty much what I was expecting. While the record would definitely fit right at home next to your other The Killers albums as a toned down version of them at first sight, I think that Brandon takes a bit more liberty in it’s musical exploration by pushing it a little bit further on a couple of songs, mixing it up and fully embracing it’s 80s background and sometimes even country.

As a The Killers fan myself, I found the album decently good, some tracks better than the rest, yet nothing too far off the beaten path, but it works and that’s good enough.

Flamingo is set to drop on September 14th in North America.

I first heard this song on my 18 hours drive back from North Carolina, I wasn’t sure if it was a B.o.B song, or a Weezer song, but with a new album on the way, I thought it made more sense to be a Weezer song from their Hurley album. And as a Weezer song, I wasn’t really sure how to take it, it didn’t really sound Weezer-like, but with their previous Lil Wayne collaboration, it felt like it was the natural progression… of you know… try and sell more cds.

I didn’t find out that I was wrong until recently when I was randomly listening to B.o.B’s debut album and figured out that it was actually B.o.B’s newest single and to be honest, I actually feel sort of relieved now that I know that it’s a song under B.o.B repertoire featuring the lead singer of Weezer, Rivers Cuomo and not the other way around, just because… B.o.B can handle this sort of corny tracks, Weezer on the other hand, not so much.

Ra Ra Riot signed their third album (probably the best so far) on Arts & Crafts (CAN), same label as Broken Social Scene, Feist and Stars. Collaborating with Chris Walla of Death Cab and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend, it’s sure that this record will have a huge hit. As they are known for their energetic concerts, they give us a beautiful video of a song well arranged with indie-rock and classic-pop (the orchestral thing).

Okay, seriously, I listened to the track a couple of times when it first came out a couple of months ago, but it’s only been now that I’ve actually sit down and listened to what Asher was saying in this song and I have to say that this new maturity thing of his fits him very well! You know, alot of people were wondering what would be the progression of Asher Roth coming off from his I Love College days, well if this is a small taste of what to come… count me in.

You know, a couple of months ago I don’t think I would have been able to say that I was a fan of Trey Songz… but the quality of the material he’s been releasing as of late for his forthcoming album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, has been on point (except maybe his cookie cutter lead single with Nicki Minaj) and really converted me into a fan. He delivers another quality song with The Unusual, which is another song that will be found on that said album and features no one else than his long time collaborator and friend Drake who’s career really took off since his association with him a couple of years back.

Passion, Pain & Pleasure is set to drop on September 14th.

I first heard of The Foreign Exchange while I was sitting in the car of one of my friend and I have to say that it immediately caught my attention as soon as it started to play. It’s been on my radar ever since and I couldn’t be more excited when I heard that they were going to release a new album on October 12th… They didn’t make us wait too long to give us a little taste of it as a week after the announcement, they unveiled the first peek of it with Maybe She’ll Dream of Me featuring Phonte.

Alright, so not only did T.I. released a brand new track featuring Rick Ross and produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League while we wait for his forthcoming album King Uncaged, but there has been reports that T.I. and his wife Tiny were arrested last night for possession of illegal substances. I’m not going to go in too much into that, but man, he was just in prison like months ago, how could he not be on the look out for these kinds of things? I mean really…

I hope nothing too serious comes out of this little run-in with the law as the name of his album could take a whole different meaning.
