Remember this song? Yeah, this was like a week before Kanye started his G.O.O.D. Friday, or was it the first? I don’t remember, either way, I remember hearing this when I was in North Carolina during last summer and I remember it to be my jam and dancing to it in the living room of the house we were living in ahah. Anyway, it’s going to be released on Kanye’s upcoming album as an iTunes bonus track and it’s pretty much the same song, the only apparent difference is the addition of Big Sean to the mix.

INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment.

The film attempts to understand the essence of influence, what makes a person influential without taking a statistical or metric approach.

Written and Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today’s pop culture.

“Influencers” belongs to the new generation of short films, webdocs, which combine the documentary style and the online experience.

Not only is this video the latest trailer of Walt Disney upcoming sequel of their sci-fi classic Tron, but it also serves as a videoclip for Daft Punk’s newest single, Derezzed, that will appear not only in the movie, Tron Legacy, but also on it’s soundtrack that was pushed back to a late November [22nd] window a little while ago… A little bit less than a month before the actual movie hitting the theaters [December 17th].

We’ve used up all our words on Kanye from every other Kanye post we’ve written. This is his 35 minute film which features the majority of his album. Sit back and enjoy.

I was special enough to get an extra’s part in one of the SWAT scenes with a couple good buddies. This will no doubt be a great flick, and a great way to spend your Saturday afternoon. ENJOY….

Summary:

As Tristan (Matthew Outerbridge) sinks deeper in to a depressive state, he finds himself flipping through the escort section of a phonebook only to come across the services of Verona Girls. A girl named Michele (Christina Sciotino) is sent over. Together they find company in each other’s presence. As their connection flourishes, so does the rage of her unbalanced handler, Nikolai (Chris Ramsay) and his right hand man, Jaz (Ray Milord). Hurled into a ring of drugs, guns and human trafficking, Tristan and Michele are forced to try and end the chaos that plagues both of their lives.

Remember how epic the music in the trailer of Inception was? Well Daft Punk are right on the money too with The Game Has Changed which is currently featured in one of the trailer of Disney upcoming Tron Legacy. The leak/release comes right as words about the delay of the release of the soundtrack were made official.

Please note, due to a recent system conflict, the Tron Legacy Soundtrack release date has been moved to December 7th.

And as much faith I want to have in the sequel of one of my favorite classic/nerd movie, if it does end up sucking, I know for a fact that Daft Punk can’t screw up on the score. If they do though, 2012, might be closer than we think after all.

F*ck You is the lead single of Cee-Lo Green upcoming album, LadyKiller, and it is just amazing. It plays the ex-girlfriend/new boyfriend card without falling into the too cheesy and keeping the whole thing very upbeat. I wonder if it will get some radio plays considering the choice of words in the song, or if it will be censored by switching Fuck You to another word… but then again, you gotta respect Cee-Lo’s grind for just putting it out there without compromise.

LadyKiller is set to drop on October 4th and I gotta say that I cannot wait for it to drop.

On another note, I went to see The Other Guys with some buddies this weekend and well, not only was it hilarious, but this song was playing during the credits of the movie and with a title like Pimps Don’t Cry, the moment it started playing, I just had to know who had made this little gem, and what do you know, Cee-Lo Green was behind it and not only that, but there was even a video for it featuring Eva Mendes who also plays in the movie.

A few years back, Taylor Steele and Dustin Humphrey explored this concept in their film/book collaboration Sipping Jetstreams, discovering how new veins of travel enhance the experience of riding waves. For Castles In The Sky, Taylor Steele pioneered new coastlines on every corner of the globe, dived into the cultural stew of global exploration and brought it all to life through a visual whirlwind of inspiration.

“Our Day Will Come” is the English translation of the title of the first feature film from renowned French music video director Romain Gavras. With videos for DJ Mehdi’s Signatune Justice’s Stress, Simian Mobile Disco’s I Believe, and most recently M.I.A.’s Born Free he has made a name for himself as an up and coming director to look out for. If you don’t happen to speak French, then at the very least it’s not hard for one to appreciate the quality cinematography that Gavras puts on display in the trailer.

(Is it just me or the frame at 0:46 looks uncannily like the cover for The Great Gatsby? Food for thought…)

No, your eyes are not deceiving you; there’s a new member to the above and beyond team and it’s me! Indeed, Matt recently invited me to use his blog as a means for me to share my latest findings in the music / movie / what ever I deem worthy of putting my name next to departments.

And what better post to start off my time here at A&B than a soundtrack / movie teaser for Mr. Oizo’s new feature film “Rubber” (Shot entirely on DSLR) . The soundtrack was made in collaboration with fellow Ed Banger label mate Gaspard Augé of Justice fame. Keeping with Oizo’s signature schizophrenic cut up style the trailer doesn’t stray too far from what we’ve heard from him before.

So with my first post in the bag, more should be coming soon.
