Okay, my turn to talk about Katy Perry since my buddy Matt is getting every scoop about her including what brands of tampons she uses. Nah I’m kidding. If there’s one person who dosen’t know or heard Katy’s first single from her second album, he’s probably in a bomb shelter waiting for 2012 while realising that he forgot his radio, laptop and television. I mean come on, it’s EVERYWHERE…like dust. The single took only four weeks to reach the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the fastest rising single from a Capitol Records artist since 1967. However it’s a great track to start the summer and I’m pretty sure gothic musicians are singing the song in the shower when they are alone.

Her next single Teenage Dream (also name of the album) was released yesterday on iTunes and it’s close to be one big top priority download. Hitmakers like Greg Smith, Dr. Luke, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, and even Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo lend a hand for what Perry predicts “will be one of those records that is everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure.” The song dosen’t blow my mind but it’s a good fruit punch of musical influence from her first album and California Girls.

The album is hitting music stores in August 24th 2010.
