Okay, this is just dope. J. Cole joins Young Chris on Still The Hottest off his mixtape, The Network 2, where he borrows Kanye West lyrics of Through The Wire to prove that they are still relevant even 7 years later. J. Cole was part of the XXL Freshmen of ‘10 and while the song on the mixtape was sort of flat, everything else associated with J. Cole is just dope… so it’s a no brainer to say that he’s definitely going to be a problem in the future. 2010 to be his year? Maybe not… since Drake is definitely on his way to make it his year, but he’s definitely next in line.

Lupe Fiasco and Kenna had a song on the Music For Relief compilation dedicated for the Haïti earthquakes that happened a two (?) months ago. They recently released a video for it directed by IllusiveMedia.

Even if Yeasayer’s latest album, Odd Blood, was released in early 2010, it definitely made my shortlist for best albums of the year and I would be plesantly surprised if it wouldn’t be in my top 10 at the end of December. With that comes their latest single O.N.E. (and video), which is also one of my favorite song of 2010 so far and I don’t want to predict anything, but it sounds like it could definitely become the My Girls of 2010.

Here’s the latest video of She & Him with alot of Zooey and a little of M. Ward. Not much to say, it has Zooey Deschanel doing her best impression of what it would look like if she was in High School Musical… fairly Zooey Deschanel-ish and a little bit generic, but since it involves Zooey Deschanel I will probably end up watching it 100 times… because yeah, that’s what I do nostalker.

Remember when I posted that Slim Tongue Sugar’s track In For The Kill which was using a sample of British artist La Roux? Well someone named K-Word of the hip-hop group True 2 Life Music decided to send me a track that was also sampling In For The Kill of La Roux, but putting a darker twist to the mix… To be honest, I get so many emails in my inbox, that I don’t get the time to read them all, so I actually get picky to the one I read and let me tell you that having anything La Roux related with the email is always a good way to get me to open the email in the first place.
It was the first time I heard of True 2 Life Music, but I can see that they’ve been getting some exposure as of late, opening for Wale & Wiz Khalifa and collaborating with the such of DJ Booth and for a good reason, I mean this track definitely sounds good so it’s no wonder that they’re starting to make a name for themselves. Expect to see their name popping off here and there in the upcoming months and what not because like I said, they seems to be on the up and up lately.

Here we go, here’s the first two leaks of MGMT upcoming album, Congratulations including the title track of the album. I think Congratulations was leaked a little while ago, but I never got around to post it, while Flash Delirium is not only spanking new, but really showcase the talent of MGMT in all it’s grandeur by mixing stuff together that wouldn’t necessarily work together at first sight, or at least on paper and succeding at doing so. The song is also a little bit more heavy than the usual MGMT, but it definitely fits the title perfectly.
Their sophomore album, Congratulations is set to drop on April 13th.

Saw this trailer when I went to see Alice in Wonderlands this weekend and I litterally had to pick up my jaw from the floor (Too bad Alice sucked). I’m reaaaaaaaaaally hyped about the movie… Tron always had a special place in my heart and I hope they don’t screw it up, but things are looking good so far and from what I saw so far, I could just feel the vibe and atmosphere not many movies can say the same… especially just by watching their trailers. And I don’t know for you guys, but if I didn’t know any better, by the look of the trailer only, I wouldn’t be able to say that it’s a Disney production.
